SJ is a creative leader, illustrator, apparel designer, and hand-lettering artist based in Reston, Virginia, near Washington, D.C.
SJ's work blends bold graphic elements with fluid, organic movement, creating a dynamic visual language that is both nostalgic and daring. Rooted in personal storytelling, queer and trans joy, and a deep connection to nature, SJ’s art celebrates fluidity and unapologetic self-expression.
Originally from Texas, SJ earned a BA in Art from The University of Texas at San Antonio and later pursued environmental science with a focus on aquatic biology at Oregon State University—an experience that continues to shape their artistic perspective. Over the years, they have called Texas, Florida, New York, and Virginia home, each place adding layers of influence to their evolving creative voice.
In 2023, SJ fully dedicated themself to their art career and entrepreneurial vision by founding Euphoria Threads, a clothing brand designed to spark conversation, empower the LGBTQIA+ community, and foster connection. As the founder and Creative Director, they bring their vision to life through bold, expressive artwork that blends whimsy with advocacy.
SJ’s work spans apparel design, illustration, and hand lettering, always with the goal of uplifting and creating spaces where people can see themselves reflected. Whether designing for their brand or collaborating with like-minded creatives, they remain committed to the power of art and design as a vehicle for visibility, self-love, and community.
