Hello, I'm SJ! I'm a creative leader, illustrator, graphic and embroidery artist based in Manchester, NH.
My art lives in the space between strength and softness. Bold shapes, fluid lines, and quiet movement help me express the parts of my story that words haven’t always been able to hold. So much of my work comes from learning how to live with my own mind — the joyful days, the overwhelming ones, the slow healing in between. It’s shaped by my experience as a queer and trans nonbinary person, as a transracial adoptee, and as someone who has spent years learning how to offer myself the same compassion I give to others. My biggest hope is that my art feels like a soft place to land. A reminder that you matter, even on the days when you’re struggling to believe it.

I grew up in Texas before studying aquatic biology at Oregon State University, and that experience changed how I see everything. Being in and around water taught me to slow down and notice the quiet details that most people miss — the small movements, the tiny shifts, the gentle patterns that make up a whole world. That practice didn’t just influence my art. It became a way of taking care of my mental health. A reminder to pause, breathe, and pay attention to what’s real and grounding.
Euphoria Threads was born out of late-night conversations about survival, joy, and the kind of world we wish we had growing up. In 2023, I created it as a way to give something back — something soft and affirming, something rooted in belonging. For me, it’s not just a brand. It’s part of my healing. It’s a way of building a home for queer and trans people, a place where our joy, our grief, our questions, and our truths are all allowed to exist.
My creative work takes a lot of different forms — illustration, apparel design, embroidery, hand lettering — but at its core, it’s all about connection. I want people to feel less alone when they see something I’ve made. I want them to feel understood. I want them to feel held, even if just for a moment.
When I work, I try to create from a place of honesty and hope. Mental health isn’t a straight line, and neither is art. Both are ongoing practices. Both ask me to show up as I am. And if something I create can offer even one person a moment of peace or recognition in a world that can be so heavy, then I know I’m doing something meaningful.
